Someone very special is on the blog today, our two year old son, Harrison!
Every year around our children’s birthdays I think up something a little special, that I think they will enjoy and something that shows a little about them. I have been wanting to photograph Harrison with a bear for some time now and was just waiting for his birthday to roll around for his child portrait session.
My husband started calling Harrison “hair bear” when he was little and “Bear” somehow just stuck. Our little baby bear.
Last night was a beautiful evening and felt like the perfect opportunity to go out and capture an image that I could turn into a piece of art for him. I asked one of my neighbors if she would mind if I borrowed her yard for a bit. Our yard is a bit obstructed with a swing set, ha! Of course she said it was completely fine, so my husband and I took a walk over and spent a few moments chasing “Bear” around before he finally would sit for two seconds! You have to work incredibly fast with children this age, that’s for sure.
He finally rested on the ground and I asked him what was in the sky (causing him to start to look up) and BAM, I got what I needed and we headed home. Once all the little ones were settled in bed I got right to work on this image.
In the moments before he would settle so I could get what I needed I captured him being the cute little boy that he is. Running around, being silly, ignoring my requests to sit for just a moment.
Harrison is full of life. He is our youngest of three children. He is funny. Smart. Talented with all things “sports”. And of course, cute!
Once the bear left… ok, I’m kidding, the bear isn’t real 😉 I captured one more image. He’s probably thinking “what on earth are we doing Mom?”
