Here to share a spring maternity session in Leominster, MA.
I’ve been a big fan of our local apple orchard this spring. The beautiful light that shines through the trees at certain times of the day, the beautiful green leaves, and in this case, a little remaining patch of spring blooms. Spring blooms are tough to catch. The timing of the session has to be just right, as they are only in bloom for a few short weeks. Since it was spring, and we get a lot of rain, many sessions were rained out and rescheduled and by the time this session occurred there was not much left for the blooms. I am so glad we had the opportunity to have some of the blooms in this gallery for this wonderful couple expecting their first baby!
Maternity sessions have always been one of my favorite sessions to photograph. When I first started my business I was still a bit “all over the place” for lack of a better term. I photographed anything and everything. Building a business is hard work, in the beginning most of us photographers are just trying to get our name out there, and photograph what people request of us. I did this for a while and the best part about it, I was then able to really see what I wanted to specialize in. I started photography with the idea of wanting to photograph babies. I do believe that you can be good at a lot of things but if you really narrow your focus you can be GREAT with a specialized area of expertise. Narrowing that focus really allows you to learn and grow, and be the best you can possibly be. For this reason I am not a wedding photographer. Though I pride myself on creating beautiful images, I would be doing a disservice to a newly engaged couple looking for a wedding photographer. I believe it is really important to find a photographer that specializes in the genre you are looking for, and then finding a photographer in that field that has a style that you are attracted to. I stuck to my interest in photographing newborns, but also started to work with maternity clients. I enjoyed these sessions so much I started building a wardrobe to provide beautiful gowns to my clients during their sessions. Gowns in my eyes are a must! What a beautiful time for a family, and I want to create images that are more than just the day to day. Selecting a gown that fits your style and encourages you to feel beautiful is a primary focus.
Here is Rachel, stunning as can be, wearing a one of the newest additions to the studio wardrobe. In a beautiful steel blue color with a modest lace top.
Thank you for stopping by the blog today. I hope you loved these images and I am looking forward to sharing more maternity sessions with you soon!
