I got out from behind the camera for a special Mommy and Me Photography portrait, with the help from my husband. As a photographer I am always capturing beautiful moments for other families and often times am not seen in portraits with my own children. In an effort to create images that they will be able to hold onto forever I enlisted the help of my hubby and gave him a little camera 101 instruction, and he nailed it!
I think it is so important to be in images with your children. I want my children to have images of not just them with myself but also of us as a family. We’ve had a couple of family sessions over the years with other photographers, and like to update these portraits every two years or so as the children grow older, and display them around the house along with the many I have taken of them. On this occasion I needed my husband to help me update my headshot. So once we completed that project I quickly threw simple T-shirts on the children and had them come into the studio with me. I really wanted us to all be close, I love a “serious” look. My daughter was literally laughing hysterically moments before, so it cracks me up to see what came out at the end when she was prompted to look serious for a moment.
I’m so in love with these three. I am so proud of them and so excited to have this image printed and displayed in the studio, and my home.
I am looking forward to the spring, and creating loving images of other families. Fingers crossed for some warm weather soon. Get in touch to book a spot for your family here.
