When I started working in the industry I knew I wanted to be a Newborn Photographer. What I didn’t know is how much time and education it would take to be great at it. I’m coming up on my four year anniversary and I have grown so much over the years. I have invested so much in my education, on a mission to be the best I can be. I love photography, and I love the personal challenge. I have the greatest job ever, it never gets old and I never grow tired of creating beautiful images, and coming up with the next session vision.
Newborns are certainly my specialty but I cover the whole “growing family” genre. Maternity, Newborn, Baby Milestones and Family. Last year I mentored with my absolute favorite newborn photographer, in person. I also then went on to mentor online with my favorite child portrait photographer. It was so eye opening and sparked creativity in me. As a result I signed up for another one of her mentor sessions, this time in person. So I will be heading to New Jersey this fall to meet her and work right next to her. I am beyond excited! Feel free to check her out: www.noellemirabella.com
Through these mentorships I started to really soul search. To really think about my direction, and my future as an artist and business woman. I started working on mastering hand editing, as you have probably noticed a shift in my work in the past four or five months. It takes me an incredibly long time to edit just one image these days. I have always been very detail oriented. I can not let an image go without every fuzzy being removed from a black shirt for instance. The time investment is so worth it to me in the end, when I see a beautiful finished image that I poured my heart into, and the positive feedback I receive from my clients is so rewarding.
OK, I’m getting to the point I promise. I’m so excited!
This year I am going to be expanding my offerings. Fine Art Child Portraits for ages 1-10 are in the works. The focus will be on outdoor sessions. I will work closely with families on outfitting and location selection. These are full thought out sessions with the intent of creating and producing pieces of art you absolutely will want displayed in your home.
