If you’re like most of my clients, you’re about to experience one of life’s greatest moments.
Maybe you just found out you’re pregnant and you’re already looking for that perfect maternity photograph. Maybe you’re a few months beyond that and wanting to book a newborn photo session so that you can always remember those very first moments with your child. Or maybe you’re a few years beyond that and wanting to capture moments that are just as special with your children as they grow.
Whatever your reason is for being here, I’m so glad you made it.
Like some of you, I’m a mom. I have three precious children. It feels like just yesterday when my husband and I got the privilege of welcoming them into the world. Now, as typical 9, 7 and 5 year olds, they’re acting like they run the world.
I always remember people coming up to me when they saw that I was pregnant for the first time.
“Enjoy every moment. It goes by so quickly.”
Sometimes it was said differently but the point was always the same. Life move fast. If only there was a way to freeze time.
Enter photography.
I picked up my first DSLR camera when our oldest was 1.5 years old. Since then, I’ve been on a mission to capture as many moments around me as I can. As we began a family of our own, to me–there was nothing more valuable than capturing those early years as a family.
Overtime, I began to realize that while beautiful photos are important, what’s more important are the stories behind the actual photos. That’s when I started to focus just as much as telling the stories of my clients as I did taking their actual photo. Pretty soon, this started to catch on and more and more clients started to ask me how they use their photos to tell their story as a family.
I don’t think this is a coincidence. I think it’s a part of being human–to want to live a story that matters and to want to share that story with others, even after we’re gone.
Since then, I’ve spent countless hours training with some of the industry’s leading photographers like Amy McDaniel and Cass Vanhorn. I’ve even won some awards along the way–including a merit from the Professional Photographers of America (PPA) and received a book with my image published on the front, and inside.
While the style and methods of photography evolve from year to year, at the core, photography has always stayed the same.
It’s always been about people.
I can’t slow down time with my camera. But I can freeze it, just for a moment, so that years from now you can remember not only what it looked like but what it felt like.
Here’s how it works.
This is my commitment to you (and your photos).
